Working as a writing coach has great meaning for me

I established my coaching business in 1998, and am passionate about working with people on both process and craft. My background as an author, editor and educator makes me uniquely qualified to work with different types of writers.

Author & Professional Editor

As a working writer, I know what is at stake when one sits down to write, and understand how to move a piece from initial concept to finished product. I have worked on NPR and film documentaries, and authored 10 books for young people. I am currently writing fiction and creative nonfiction for adults. I also have 20+ years’ experience as a professional editor.

I hold a BA in English & Literature, an MFA in Creative Writing, and teaching credentials in English, History and Special Education. I also completed a program in College Advising at Columbia University.
